I had gone here today to get my father the Covishield booster dose. Those above 60 years of age are eligible for the booster dose 39 weeks past their second dose. All vaccines are given free of cost here. Covishield in private hospitals are priced at ₹780 and for some reason only paid slots are listed in the CoWin website. The Government Hospitals and Primary Health Centres, where vaccines are available for free, are not listed in the CoWin website. It was a smooth and quick vaccination experience for us here today. There was hardly any queue. The vaccines are given in a well-ventilated large hall with social distancing compliant seating arrangement. It was almost empty. There's ample parking at the venue. A doctor checks the blood pressure before proceeding. The doctor and the nurses were nice and politely answered all the questions my father had. Note that the vaccination centre is the Kilpauk Medical College premises and not the Kilpauk Medical Hospital premises which is across the road. Call the number on the KMC website and confirm before visiting. Get the booster dose ASAP if eligible.
