The college had given an enriching opportunity to the 1st Proff Junior batch students on January 18th to visit the Oriental Institute of MSU, Vadodara. It was well- executed by the faculties from the Samhita evum Sanskrit department which indeed provided a unique opportunity to explore historical scripts and rare manuscripts that offered deep insights into different cultures and civilizations. Hidden knowledge regarding ancient Sanskrit writing styles from various parts of the country were manifested. Also, the significance behind preservation of Ayurveda texts which include the Samhitas we study, commentaries etc., was ascertained. Moreover, the level of cleanliness maintained was worth appreciation. We were made familiar with the tools used, steps and precautions taken while making a document that has to be preserved admist a tour of the building. Overall, the visit was immensely informative and inspiring for the students to be fortunate to get such a chance to witness the evidences of what we shall study in the long journey of Ayurveda in the first year itself!!
