Estd in 1968 so,very old and renowned teacher's training institute ,where merit comes first.Then B.T .College is today's B.ED college. Taking trainiing from here many teachers were joinied there schools and gave the right way of education to their students. Now a days also faculty is very good.Well managed and well maintained institute.Teachers are very well behaved towards others .so,obviously student and teachers bonding is good. Though crowdy area out side as it's located at the side of main road , middle point of Keranitola to K hudiram more and Rabindranagar to Burge town but while entereing into the campus their is silent environment with huge green field and trees also.So,this natural beauty makes the institute itself different from the other town area where,their is only buildings and pollution. Many student are wait to get admissions from here.It is the Govt sponsored teachers training institute. This type of teacher's training institute is rare ,which is now a days needed ;hope govt. will focused on that point. It's one of the feathers of the crown of Midnapore as well as this district too.

Established in 1968, the college, under West Bengal University of Teachers' Training, Education Planning and Administration, is also approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and the University Grants Commission (UGC). Vidyasagar Teachers’ Training College (VTTC), named after Pandit Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar, is situated in the heart of the Midnapore town. The history of the college began in 1966, when the ex-students of Midnapore College in their annual reunion visualized the necessity of improving the art of teaching. Though a training college and a few training departments in the general colleges were imparting training to the teachers and would be teachers of the Junior-high, High & Higher Secondary Schools of the then undivided Medinipur district, there was no provision for the training of science teachers. The said ex-students felt the need of establishment of a training college, which would impart training to the science teachers. They set up a steering committee with the then District Magistrate as its chairman, the principal-secretary, Midnapore College as its convener secretary, a few ex-students of Midnapore College, a few elites, educationists of the town as its members. The consensus of discussions combined with untiring efforts resulted the college into being from the 1st July,1968 with the sanction of affiliation in Arts and Science [co-educational] by the university of Calcutta with an intake of 220 [Deputed students-100 & Fresher students-120] trainees.
