- Any candidate who has an MBBS degree or a provisional MBBS pass certificate recognised by NMC, has completed or will complete the 12-month mandatory internship by the cutoff date (usually 31 July or 15 August 2026), and holds permanent/provisional registration with NMC or any State Medical Council is eligible. There is no upper age limit and no restriction on the number of attempts.
- Yes, final-year students can apply provided they complete their 12-month rotatory internship on or before the cutoff date announced by NBEMS in the information brochure. If the internship is not completed by the cutoff date, candidature will be cancelled even if the candidate has qualified the exam.
- No. Unlike NEET-UG, there is no limit on the number of attempts for NEET PG. Candidates can appear as many times as they wish.

- To secure popular clinical branches (Medicine, Surgery, OBG, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics) in top government colleges under All India Quota, a score above 600–650+ and All India Rank under 3000–5000 is generally required (varies every year).
- No. NEET PG is only for MD/MS/PG Diploma courses. Dental PG (MDS) aspirants have to appear for NEET MDS conducted separately by NBEMS.
